PHOTO #1:
U.S. District Court Judge Mark Goldsmith (center) recently conducted his motion call at Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus. The event was held in cooperation with the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan chapter, and co-sponsored by Cooley’s Criminal Law Society and Auburn Hills Mock Trial Board.  Welcoming Goldsmith to Cooley were (left to right) Brittani Baldwin, Cooley Auburn Hills Assistant Dean and Professor Lisa K. Halushka, Jordan Fields and Cooley Auburn Hills Associate Dean John Nussbaumer.

PHOTO #2: After hearing oral arguments in Cooley’s mock courtroom, Goldsmith stayed and took questions giving the students a unique insight into the law from the judge’s side of the bench. Goldsmith served as an Oakland County Circuit Court judge for more than six years and as a part-time magistrate in the 45B District Court for two years before he was nominated to the U.S. District Court by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the Senate in 2010.
