Last year, Ashton Steele from the University of Michigan Dental School, Development, founded “Her World,” a non-profit that raises awareness about domestic violence impacting the local community. More than 120 people attended the inaugural gala last fall at the The Standard Bistro & Larder in Ann Arbor. The organization’s 2020 goals include the development of a trauma-informed training for judges and experts engaged in civil and criminal cases involving domestic violence.
