The Polish American Lawyers Society welcomed State Bar President Charles Toy (front row center) to its recent meeting in Dearborn Heights. Joining Toy at the event were (front row, left to right) Warren attorney Mark Teklinski, Wayne County 19th District Court Judge Richard Wygonik, Wayne County 20th District Court Judge Mark Plawecki, Joseph Kosmala with Marlinga Law Group PLLC, Roseville attorney Raymond Ruemenapp and St. Clair Shores attorney Jerrold Marsh; along with (back row, left to right) Southgate attorney Doug Hamel, Utica attorney John Gorniak, Sterling Heights attorney Karl Hamel, Dairus Dynkowski with Ackerman, Ackerman, & Dynkowski; and Ryan Hill with CAN-AM Legal Services. Toy addressed the group thanking them for their contributions to the legal profession and their local communities. He also provided an update on State Bar activities. “There are many issues we are dealing with — the proposed sales tax on legal services, indigent criminal defense, and the Judicial Crossroads taskforce that is dealing with an effective delivery of legal services with the changing demography and economic outlook of Michigan,” he noted.
