Exploring opportunities in Africa

The State Bar of Michigan International Law Section recently hosted a symposium called “Sub-Saharan Africa: Change, Challenge, and Opportunity” at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. Among the speakers at the event were (left to right) Wayne State University Law School Professor Alan Schenk and Dr. John F. Kelly, associate dean at Africa Center for Strategic Studies. “With almost a billion people — a land mass that is three times that of the United States — it has become the new focus point for American foreign policy and the foreign policy of other major powers.”
