Dickinson Wright attorney to moderate ABA Webcast panel
Dickinson Wright PLLC attorney Mark R. High will moderate a live audio Webcast panel on shareholder agreements for the American Bar Association on Wednesday, June 9. The Webcast and accompanying teleconference will begin at 1 p.m.

This Webcast will review topics that can be covered in shareholders agreements, and will discuss specific strategies that can be used to solve issues. Participants will learn what must be covered in buy-sell provisions, what should be covered, and what can happen without coverage; what other topics can be included; how to address funding issues among related companies upon an owner’s death; how private equity investors use shareholder agreements; and the ethical issues involved in drafting shareholders agreements. Secretary of State offices closes for Memorial Day
Secretary of State branch offices and the Office of the Great Seal will be closed on today in observance of Memorial Day.  

The Department of State mails notices to motorists 45 days before their driver’s license or license plates expire to give them ample time to renew.  Licenses and plates that expire on a day when state offices are closed, such as a holiday or weekend, can be renewed the following day without penalty.

Motorists renewing license plates can “skip the trip” to the branch office and do business by mail, or if eligible, by Internet or touch-tone telephone. 

License plate tabs can also be renewed at Self-Service Stations, many of which are available 24/7.  Visit the Branch Office Locator at www.Michigan.gov/sos to find a local Self-Service Station.

Holiday hours
The 36th District Court will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day. Only Criminal arraignments will be conducted.

The Third Circuit Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day.

The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day  and will reopen on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 8 a.m.

The Wayne County Clerk’s Office will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day.
