Honigman continues to grow IP practice
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP’s Intellectual Property practice has expanded significantly in recent years, bringing on 15 attorneys in the past two years for a total 25. Anessa Owen Kramer is the latest hire, joining the firm as a partner in its Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group of its Corporate and Securities Department.
Kramer concentrates her practice on the availability and protection of trademarks; managing and prosecuting large international trademark portfolios; enforcing and litigating trademark actions; handling domain name issues; and providing advice relating to advertising and marketing.
She was recognized as one of 25 “Leaders in the Law” in 2010 by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and was named as one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ “40 under 40” business leaders in 2007. She is admitted to practice law in Michigan, the District of Columbia, Maryland and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Kramer earned a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, with honors, and a B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University.
She comes to Honigman from Brooks Kushman P.C.
Attorney receives Distinguished Service Award from OCBA
David Carl Anderson, principal and founder of the Law Office of David C. Anderson, P.C. in Troy, recently received the Oakland County Bar Association 2010 Distinguished Service Award. The honor was presented at the OCBA’s annual meeting on June 3.
Anderson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Oakland County Bar Association, and is a Life Fellow with the Oakland County Bar Association Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the North Woodward Community Foundation.
A resident of Troy, he is married to Judge Martha Anderson of the Oakland County Circuit Court.
IABA of Michigan hosts Justinian Night June 29
Italian American Bar Association of Michigan’s annual Justinian Night to take place at the Detroit Athletic Club on June 29, 2010 beginning at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails followed by dinner and presentation of the award to this year’s honoree.
