Thomas M. Cooley Law School student Hali Adair (left) threw out the first pitch at the Lansing Lugnuts game on June 17 at Cooley Law School Stadium. Adair, a third year law student, is part of the school’s Innocence Project. The Project’s mission is to identify, provide legal assistance to, and secure the release of persons who are wrongfully imprisoned for crimes they did not commit. June 17th was the seventh anniversary of the DNA exoneration of Ken Wyniemko. He was the first person exonerated under Michigan’s post-conviction DNA testing law, and was represented by members of the Cooley Innocence Project. Also enjoying the Lugnuts game were members of Cooley’s Innocence Project including (below, front row, left to right) Tara Moody; Donna McKneelen, Cooley assistant professor and co-director of Cooley’s Innocence Project; Zeely Stewart; and Anthony Saunders; along with (back row, left to right) Jason Zapf; Hali Adair; Antonia Bortone; Kathy Swedlow, Cooley professor; and William O’Connor.
