Two Detroit attorneys received the annual Respected Advocate Award presented by the Michigan Defense Trial Council (MDTC) and Michigan Association of Justice (MAJ).
Recipients Mark R. Granzotto and Paul J. Manion both fulfilled the reward requirements, which include: a history of success in civil litigation matters; unfailing adherence to the highest standard of ethic and candor in dealing with the court and with counsel; and the respect and admiration of counsel on the opposing side of the bar.
Manion received the MDTC award, presented to a member of the plaintiff’s bar to recognize and honor the individual’s history of successful representation of clients and adherence to the highest standards of ethics.
The MAJ 2010 award bestowed upon Granzotto recognizes the same for a defense practitioner.
Primarily engaged as a trial attorney in the areas of medical-dental malpractice, legal malpractice, product liability, property and general civil liability, Manion practices law with Rutledge, Manion, Rabaut, Terry, and Thomas, PC.
He has been a member of the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan and State Bar of Michigan Committee on Character and Fitness.
Currently he is a panelist for the State Bar of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board and member of the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Section and current council member.
Manion is a past member of the Detroit Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Committee and is a current member of the American Bar Association as well as its Committee on Torts and Insurance Practice.
