Cultivating diverse perspectives

The State Bar of Michigan conducted the first of three Diversity Project Colloquia last month at Wayne State University Law School’s Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium.  Welcoming participants to the program was SBM President-Elect W. Anthony Jenkins (pictured) of Dickinson Wright.  The purpose of the colloquia is to gather stakeholders from across the state to provide feedback on a proposed statement supporting increased diversity in the legal profession. The sessions are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the profession by cultivating diverse perspectives. They will provide an opportunity to formally recognize this common goal and recommit to the work necessary to achieve it.  The other sessions took place at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids and Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing.
