Attorney appointed to  Client Protection Fund Committee for 3 years
Laura A. Brodeur-McGeorge, a partner in Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP’s Labor and Employment Department, has been appointed as a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Client Protection Fund Committee from October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2013. The Committee reimburses clients who have been victimized by  lawyers who violate the profession’s ethical standards and misappropriate funds entrusted to them.

Brodeur-McGeorge is a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.

Brodeur-McGeorge earned a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and a B.S. in management from Oakland University.

USA Graveline to speak at Wayne Law program
The Wayne State University Law School Program for International Legal Studies and the International Law Students Association are pleased to host a lecture by Christopher Graveline, an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan, on Thursday, Sept. 9. Graveline will speak on “Prosecuting International Crimes: the cases of Abu Ghraib and Chuckie Taylor” from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in the Law School’s Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, and Graveline will be on hand prior to the event to sign copies of his book. Lunch will be served. The Wayne County Probate Court is closed in observance of Labor Day today and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 8 a.m. The Third Circuit Court Civil, Criminal, and Family Divisions is closed today in observance of Labor Day. The Wayne County Clerk’s Office is closed today in observance of Labor Day.
