Discussing lawyer trust accounts

The State Bar of Michigan will present “Lawyer Trust Accounts: Management Principles and Recordkeeping Resources” from 9-11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at the State Bar’s Michael Franck Building in downtown Lansing.

The half-day seminar will feature presentations on how to ethically manage lawyer trust accounts and effectively use forms, checklists, and guidelines to perform recordkeeping responsibilities.

The seminar is an excellent opportunity for lawyers to receive practical information and resources to ensure compliance with Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15 and 1.15A.

The event is open to lawyers and staff members.

There will be an optional 30 minute “hands-on” session on billing and accounting software in the PMRC Educational Center immediately following the seminar.

The registration fee is $50 for lawyers and $25 for non-lawyers. Payment and the completed registration form, which can be downloaded from the SBM website at www.michbar.org/trustaccounts.cfm, must be received by Tuesday, March 22.

No “walk-in” registrations will be accepted.
