Warner Norcross assists Kids’ Food Basket, has two partners honored by Inforum
The Grand Rapids office of Warner Norcross & Judd raised nearly $7,500 in a single week to support Kids' Food Basket — nearly triple the original goal set for the law firm's Community Service Project.
Attorneys and staff had a friendly competition between the six floors of the downtown law firm to raise funds - and then assemble - 2,000 snack packs to provide weekend nutrition for elementary school children in the greater Grand Rapids area. Additional funds will be used to purchase “lots and lots of juice boxes,” according to Robin Keith, community relations manager for Warner Norcross and one of the project's organizers. KFB works to attack childhood hunger by providing sack suppers and weekend snack packs to children at 27 area schools.
On June 15, Inforum West Michigan honored two Warner Norcross & Judd LLP partners with an Inner Circle award.
Melissa N. Collar and Janet P. Knaus were among 27 women recognized by Inforum West Michigan. Inner Circle recognizes West Michigan’s top women executives, including high-powered professional women, entrepreneurs and small business owners, government officials, non-profit leaders and others influential in the business community.
Collar, who chairs the firm’s Real Estate Services Group, was among the co-founders of the West Michigan region of Inforum, one of the largest business forums in the Midwest. She has held a number of Inforum positions at the state and regional levels, most recently serving on the board of directors. Among other honors, Collar has been named to Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers and as one of the 40 Under 40 Business Leaders in West Michigan.
Knaus concentrates her practice in information technology procurement and outsourcing. She has also been active in Inforum since its West Michigan inception. Knaus has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers. She is also a fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. She currently serves on the Board of the YWCA of West Central Michigan.
