Bauman one of the 2011 “Michigan Women in the Law”
Mary V. Bauman was named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of its 2011 “Michigan Women in the Law.” She will be featured in a special news insert in their publication on Sept. 12 and honored at an award event at the Detroit Marriott on Sept. 26.
“We received so many great nominations, it really shows the breadth and depth of women in the legal community in Michigan,” said Publisher Donald Stemmermann. “There were difficult decisions to be made, but in our view, all of the nominees are winners. With so many great candidates comes a great opportunity for us to showcase the best of the best with these honorees.” The honorees not only practice in law firms but also include two judges and the executive directors from the American Civil Liberties Union and State Bar of Michigan.
The Michigan Women in the Law recognition is based on: commitment to excellence in the practice of law; inspiring and accomplished leadership in the profession;successful mentorship of other women; significant contributions of time and effort to volunteerism and pro bono work.
