Michigan Bankers Association elects new leadership
Timothy J. Doyle, senior vice president for Fifth Third Bank Western Michigan, has been elected chairman for a one-year term on the Michigan Bankers Association board of directors.
As head of the affiliate business banking group for Fifth Third, Doyle is responsible for leading 72 business banking team members in the western Michigan region focusing on commercial and industrial lending as well as small commercial real estate projects.
In his community, Doyle is an avid supporter of the United Way, Boy Scouts of America and served on the Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce.
He holds a finance degree from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking - Madison.
Deborah Smith-Olson, chairman and CEO for Lake Osceola State Bank, has been elected to serve as vice chair for a one-year term on the directors.
Olson has served as president and CEO of Lake Osceola State Bank since 1987 and moved to chairman and CEO in 2004.
Smith-Olson holds a B.S. in economics from Grand Valley State University and is a graduate of the School for Bank Administration-Community Bank Management at the University of Wisconsin.
Craig A. Kus, president and CEO for Bank of Alpena, has been named chairman-elect for a one-year term at the MBA.
Kus has been involved in the banking industry for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of Ferris State University.
David B. Ramaker, chairman, CEO and president of Chemical Financial Corporation, has been elected to serve as treasurer for a one-year term on the Michigan Bankers Association board.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in finance with an accounting minor, from Southern Methodist University, Dallas. Additionally, he graduated with honors from the Intermediate School of Banking, Southern Methodist University.
