Butzel Long BUTZEL LONG attorney DENNIS B. SCHULTZ was a featured speaker during a webinar hosted by Grant Thornton on Thursday, Sept. 15. The title of the program was: "Construction Owner's Toolbox: Oversight of Contractor Changes and Claims." Schultz co-presented the program with James T. The topic for Herrmann's presentation is: New Rules for New Tools - What You Should Know about Legal, Ethical and Business Questions in the Digital Age. "We will cover some fun and cutting-edge topics like 'Who owns a Blog,'" Herrmann said. "The discussion is always interesting when the subjects include social media, the Communications Decency Act in the context of publishing and newsgathering." Herrmann concentrates her practice in the areas of media law, particularly defamation and access issues; commercial litigation, including RICO; non-competes and trade secrets; and civil rights. She has extensive trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts in a variety of areas. Herrmann also is general counsel of the Michigan Press Association. In addition, Herrmann previously taught Law of the Press in the Journalism Department. at Oakland University. She also has been a guest speaker on Law of the Press at Wayne State University, Central Michigan University, and Oakland University. She is the author of numerous articles as well.
