Bias Awareness Week activities will dominate the local legal community
Tuesday, Oct. 18
As a part of Bias Awareness Week, WLAM is co-sponsoring a luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. at 200 North Main Street, lower level conference room entitled, ''School to Prison Pipeline.''
A panel discussion will include Robert Belous, principal at Ypsilanti High School; Kim Moore, juvenile defense attorney; Jessica Ashmore, juvenile probation officer; and Gail Altenburg, Juvenile Court referee.

Wednesday, Oct. 19
The 12th Annual ENPACT Forum will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Learning Resource Center (LRC) at the County Service Center on Hogback near Washtenaw.
The forum features area police officials and public input about racial profiling.
Washtenaw County Prosecutor Brian Mackie will provide pizza, fresh veggies, cookies and beverages free of charge.
Thursday, Oct. 20
The Washtenaw County Bar Association and The Vanzetti M. Hamilton Bar Association will hold a joint dinner meeting at Weber's with the social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the program at 6:30 p.m.
The featured speaker is Mark Fancher, attorney for the Racial Justice Project of the ACLU of Michigan.
The WCBA's Martin Luther King, Jr. ''I Have A Dream'' Award will be presented to Sheriff Jerry Clayton and the VHBA will present its Frederick Douglass Racial Justice and Harmony Award to Robert McCoy.
