About 250 people attended The Resolution Center’s 19th annual “Evening at the Movies” fundraiser held recently at the MJR Marketplace theatre complex in Sterling Heights. Craig Pappas (center), executive director, said more than $15,000 was raised to help support the center’s community youth and school-based programs. Pictured with Pappas (left to right) are: Jim Gillespie, one of two recipients of the center’s Volunteer of the Year award; Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, the event’s honorary chairperson; Skip Lare, director of student affairs at Warren Consolidated Schools, which was presented with the 2011 “Conflict Resolution Advocacy Award”; and Thomas Christ, who was also honored as a Volunteer of the Year. Gillespie and Chris volunteer as mediators at the Mount Clemens center.
