Monday Profile: Rick Mills

Rick Mills was born and raised in Jackson. He graduated in 2005 from the University of Detroit Mercy with MBA and law degrees, where he was an executive editor of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. In 2010, Mills opened his own law practice in Jackson, the Law Office of Richard C. Mills, PLC, which is dedicated to estate planning, charitable gift planning, and probate court practice. He is an active member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Mills also serves as guardian ad litem and court-appointed attorney for the Jackson County and Calhoun County Probate Courts and accepts appointments as special fiduciary, conservator, and trustee. He serves on committees of the Jackson Community Foundation and the Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, as well as the boards of Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Jackson County, The Village of Spring Meadows, and the Kiwanis Foundation of Jackson. Mills is also an adjunct instructor of business at Baker College of Jackson.
