The Catholic Lawyers Society (CLS) recently held its Annual Meeting and Brunch at the Detroit Golf Club following Mass at Gesu Church. The organization awarded the Monsignor Malloy Lifetime Achievement Award to Judge Louis F. Simmons Jr. (front row, third from left)  because his service and character have exemplified and advanced the highest values of both the Catholic faith and the legal profession.  The CLS also awarded a $1,500 college scholarship to Pauline Hryzodub (front row, third from right), a senior at Cristo Rey High School, for writing the best essay on “How Does Faith in God Make Us Free.”  Congratulating the two were (front row, left to right) CLS President Patricia Rossi Galvin and board members Paul Palgut, Christopher Bernard and retired Judge Paul Teranes; along with (back row, left to right) board members Joseph Shannon, Steven Grobbel, Terry Berg, Joseph McGill and Lawrence Paolucci.
