Cheryl L. Chandler, an attorney and shareholder with the Ann Arbor office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, was nominated and elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Membership is by invitation only. Members must possess high personal character and an honorable reputation. ABOTA’s mission is to improve the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy so that individual litigants may receive more effective representation and the general public be benefited by more efficient administration of justice. Members work to elevate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession.
Chandler defends physicians and health care entities in medical malpractice cases involving all areas of medicine. She has tried cases and appeals before judges and juries in all county circuit courts in the Detroit tri-county area, Washtenaw County, Traverse City, Monroe,
Adrian, as well as in Federal Court, the American Arbitration Association and the Michigan Supreme Court.
Chandler has handled hundreds of cases in her 31-year career.
