The Michigan chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) will host this month the meeting of the Executive Committee of the AAML at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor.
As part of the three-day event Sept. 13-15, the Michigan chapter will hold its meeting followed by a cocktail reception and dinner with the national executive board on Friday starting at 6 p.m.
National AAML President Ken Altschulerr, a resident of Maine and a graduate of the University of Michigan, said he’s been “looking forward to coming back to my alma mater for this meeting”
ever since he assumed his role as national president.
AAML Michigan Chapter President Richard “Ric” Roane, of Warner Norcross & Judd in Grand Rapids, asked Bloomfield Hills attorney Richard Victor to chair the event.
Victor is a former member of the National Board of Governors of the AAML, and is the founder of the Victor & Victor law firm.
On Sept. 15, the national executive board will hold its meeting, which will be followed by an excursion to the University of Michigan football game against Massachusetts.
This will be the first time the national executive committee has selected Michigan to host one of its four annual national board meetings.
Victor indicated that “the Michigan chapter feels very honored to have been asked to be the site for this meeting, which will provide our chapter fellows an opportunity to show representatives from other states the many things our state has to offer, as well as the many programs the Michigan chapter provides to the practice of family law in our state.”
