A Career Exploration Forum was conducted recently at the Auburn Hill’s campus of Cooley Law School with the Master Lawyers Section of the Macomb County Bar Association. Among those taking part in the program were (front row, left to right) Sandy Boisrond, director of public relations for Student Bar Association and program coordinator; Jim Kohler; Juliet Kavanaugh of Dierker & Associates PC; Master Lawyers Section Chair Joseph Golden of Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, Rivers, & Golden PC; Mount Clemens attorney Roberta Sarkis; and Cooley Career and Professional Development Director Lisa Fadler; along with (back row, left to right) Larry Scott of O’Reilly Rancilio PC; Macomb County Probate Court Administrator Phil Anderson; Sterling Heights attorney Gerald Decker; Sterling Heights attorney John Demoss; Richard Shermanski; and Kathleen Schultz of Smith & Schultz PLC. The forum was designed to provide students a chance to talk with established attorneys to gain insight into various legal practices. “The idea is to give them a taste of 11 different areas and allow them to follow up on a more formal mentoring basis with any or all of the people in this room and 21 other attorneys who signed up with the Macomb County Bar Association for what they call the Macomb Project to mentor second, third, and fourth year students on this campus,” said Golden.
