Beth Rowe of Jackson has been appointed to the Michigan Collection Practices Board by Gov. Rick Snyder. Also chosen was Stephen MacGuidwin of Grand Rapids. The nine-member board, housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, licenses and oversees collection agencies operating in Michigan. ''Stephen and Beth bring diverse, outstanding experiences to this board, and I am confident they will effectively serve the people of Michigan in these roles,'' said Snyder. Rowe is vice president and general manager of LJ Ross Associates Inc. in Jackson, where she has worked since 2009. Previously, she held numerous leadership positions within Michigan Automotive Compressor Inc.'s purchasing department. Rowe is the unit leader for the Michigan Association of Collection Agencies Inc. and participates in the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. She earned a bachelor's degree in materials and logistics management and purchasing and operations management from Michigan State University. Rowe will represent professionals and replaces David Cairnduff. MacGuidwin and Rowe will serve four-year terms that expire June 30, 2016, and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. Published: Mon, Oct 15, 2012
