Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer, & Weiss’s Women’s Caucus Group hosted its 2012 Women’s Wine & Cheese Series featuring the story of Just Baked CEO and Founder Pam Turkin (second from right) on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Welcoming Turkin were Jaffe Raitt attorneys (l-r) Deborah Rubin, Alicia Schehr, and Sarah Weston. Turkin opened her first Just Baked in January, 2009 in Livonia. The company will have 15 bakeries throughout Metro Detroit opened within the next 60 days. Recently Turkin entered into an agreement with Garden Fresh Gourmet for a national franchise expansion of Just Baked cupcake stores across the country, along with the creation of a wholesale retail program in approximately 10,000 grocery stores over the next two years. “Pam Turkin became a metro Detroit success story by turning her local bakery into a national cupcake empire,” said Weston. “By sharing her business experiences, we gained new insights that we can apply to our own career aspirations.” Approximately 70 local women business leaders attended the event which was held at Jaffe’s Southfield office. The evening provided a networking opportunity for attendees and Turkin discussed her unique story on building a thriving business. This was the first event for the Women’s Caucus Group speaker series which plans to host quarterly events. The group aims to advance women’s professional goals by providing support, networking, and educational opportunities through valuable programming.
