Ribbon cutting to mark opening of new law office in Birmingham
The Dallo Law Firm will host a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Jan. 9 for the opening of its new office in Birmingham.
The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. at the firm’s new location, 255 S. Old Woodward Avenue, Suite 310. The event is open to the public.
Dallo Law is a boutique firm specializing in criminal and immigration law. Judge Allen transfers from Criminal Division to Civil Division
After nearly 10 years on the Wayne County Circuit Court, Judge David J. Allen has transferred from the Wayne County 3RD Circuit Court Criminal Division to the Court’s Civil Division.
The transfer was effective Jan. 3. The judge’s new court phone number is 313-224-0250 and The judge’s new court address is Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 2 Woodward Ave, Courtroom 907, Detroit, MI 48226.
Allen is a 1993 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Detroit College of Law. He was appointed to the bench in 2003 by Governor Jennifer Granholm and has been re-elected twice since then. He assumes the docket of the retiring Honorable Prentis Edwards.
SBM to hold seminar Jan. 17 on dealing with distressed properties
The State Bar of Michigan will present “Dealing with Distressed Properties, Part II-The Lawyer’s Guide to Buying Distressed Property” at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham on Thursday, Jan. 17. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. and roundtables are at 8-9:30 a.m. The program will explore the various ways that one can buy distressed real estate. We will be discussing the issues that lawyers face when assisting clients in their efforts to purchase properties at auction, at tax sales, from lenders in possession, through short sales, from land banks and from bankruptcy trustees.
