CLS is hoping to supplement existing legal assistance services in the counties of Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon and Ottawa.
Though dreadful weather caused the absence of over half those who had replied they were coming, according to Executive Director Dustie DeVille, 38 people showed up to hear pro bono awardees Nelson P. Miller, Steven L. Williams, and Judge Daniel V. Zemaitis speak and participate in the silent auction and other activities. CLS was very happy with the results of its premier fund-raising outing.
The non-profit is still looking for attorneys to volunteer their services, as well as for donations wherever possible, since despite the heroic efforts of existing agencies, there is still unmet need. For more information, visit http://clswm.org.
