Obituary: Monte M. Korn

Monte M. Korn, who began practicing law in 1942 and for years was a Legal News contributing columnist, died Saturday, Feb. 23. He was 93.

Korn was the talk show host of “Open Line with Monte Korn” on radio station WNZK am690. He wrote for the Legal News under his column “Law, Money and Elder Law.”

Korn was a member of the Probate and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor Karbal Korn, and children Larry (Marge Clarke) Korn, Linee Diem, Dr. Howard (Lynne) Brooks-Korn, Stephen Korn, Joanne (Dr. Michael) Rowe, Rabbi Richard (Shuli) Korn and Nancy Korn Zelch.

Korn is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sister Phyllis Zatzick.

A funeral was held Tuesday at Ira Kaufman Chapel. The family planned to gather through the evening of Thursday, Feb. 28.
