The Michigan Creditors Bar Association (MCBA) recently presented a program entitled “Why Compliance Makes Cent$: Best Practices for Service of Process and Proofs of Service.” Because the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is now regulating legal collection, the MCBA offered this interactive seminar for process servers, court officers, deputy sheriffs, managers, and attorneys to make sure everyone is in compliance. Taking part in the program at the Michigan Education Center in Troy were (left to right) Lori Frank, MCBA board member; Greg Kellerman; Kimberly Brown; Jeff Kirkpatrick of the Michigan Court Officers, Deputy Sheriff, and Process Servers Association; Andrea Enright of Shermeta, Adams, and VonAllmen PC; and David Grizzel of the Michigan Process Servers’ Alliance Assoc.
