The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan recently conducted a scholarship presentation to honor recipients of the Annual Ralph M. Freeman Foundation Law School and College Scholarships at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Gerald Rosen (center) was happy to present scholarships to (left to right) Colleen Fitzharris, Allison Grathoff, Marybeth Marin, Mitchell Hart, Jake Whiting, Anna Volk, Ashleigh Grimes, and Matthew Przybysz. Ralph M. Freeman was a U.S. District judge for the Eastern District for more than 35 years. The law school scholarships continue Freeman’s legacy of justices, advocacy, and civility. The $1,000 scholarships are granted to a law student at the five Michigan law schools. The Freeman Foundation also awards four college scholarships to students of full-time permanent employees of the District Court, Bankruptcy Court, Probation Department, and Pretrial Services Agency.
