Dykema’s Hanselman appointed to Unarmed Combat Commission
Dykema announces that Jason T. Hanselman, Lansing-based member in its Government Policy and Practice group, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder to a four-year term on the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission, which regulates all professional boxing and mixed martial arts events in the state.
Hanselman, who focuses his practice on government policy, administrative and regulatory law, advises clients in highly-regulated industries such as casino gaming. His experience includes legislative as well as transactional work.
Hanselman will represent the general public. He has extensive experience in government service: prior to joining Dykema in 2000, he worked at the Michigan Supreme Court, State Court Administrative Office, U.S. Internal Revenue Service, and in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Lewis named Dickinson Wright managing partner
Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Leslee M. Lewis will serve as Managing Partner of the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
Lewis is the Practice Department Manager of the firm’s Real Estate, Environmental, and Energy and Sustainability practices. She focuses in the areas of real estate, banking/financial services, energy/sustainability, construction, corporate, emerging business, estate planning and administration, and mergers and acquisitions. She serves as general corporate counsel to national, regional and emergent businesses and nonprofits.
Lewis co-chairs the State Bar Real Property Law Section Summer Conference 2013 and 2014, serves on the National Editorial Board of the ALI-ABA's The Practical Real Estate Lawyer and is a Consulting Member of the Principles of the Law of Nonprofit Organizations. Lewis serves locally on the Transitional Housing Council board (Liz’s House/My Sister’s House) and as General Counsel of Haven Builders. She is recognized as a leader by Chambers USA, Michigan Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America.
Lewis received her B.A. from Alma College and her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School.
