Board members sought for Friends of CASA

Holiday cards are going out to thank the many supporters of Friends of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in Washtenaw County, and ask for financial contributions.

Friends of CASA is also recruiting board members for the coming year.

Friends of CASA is a Washtenaw County-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Friends of CASA promotes the quality, sustainability, and growth of the CASA program in Washtenaw County.

CASA volunteers come from all walks of life and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.

The volunteers are trained to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in our courtrooms and our local communities. Volunteer advocates—empowered directly by the courts—offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care.

Friends of CASA helps create awareness and provides funding and support for the CASA program under the jurisdiction of the Washtenaw County Trial Court - Juvenile Division.
To consider offering your talents to maintain and grow the success of this program, contact Julie L. Dunbar, Board president, at 734-669-0603 or juliedunbarlaw@gmail.com for more information.
