George Sinas, 2013 Michigan Lawyer of the Year, gets humanitarian award

The Law Firm of Sinas Dramis, headquarters in Lansing, is proud to announce that its President, George T. Sinas, was awarded the Catalina Andres Humanitarian Award for his ongoing and untiring efforts to protect the Michigan Auto No-Fault Law.  The award was given by the ACS Foundation at a black tie gala on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the Glen Oaks Country Club in Farmington Hills.

Earlier this year, Sinas was named the 2013 Michigan Lawyer of the Year by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. The award was determined by selection of his peers.

Sinas received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan and his law degree cum laude from Wayne State University Law School. He is a past President of the Michigan Association for Justice (formerly the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association) and a past Chairperson of the State Bar Negligence Law Section.

During his many years of law practice, George Sinas has received numerous honors in the field of personal injury law.  He also received the 2003 Leo A. Farhat Outstanding Attorney Award from the Ingham County Bar Association and the Legacy Society Professional Service award from the Michigan Brain Injury Association in 005 for his work representing victims of serious brain injury.

He has also authored two textbooks and numerous articles on the subject of the Michigan Auto No-Fault Law, and taught that subject as an Adjunct Professor at the Michigan State University College of Law. He is a co-creator of the Michigan “No-Fault RedBook Online” (NFRBO.com), a comprehensive resource operated by the MAJ to assist attorneys, judges, and insurance professionals in analyzing legal issues arising under the Michigan no-fault law. Sinas also serves as General Counsel for the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault, which includes over 20 major medical and consumer groups representing major stakeholders in the state no-fault insurance system.
