The History Book Club wrapped up 2013 with a discussion of “Truman” by David McCullough. Among those on hand for the event were Ken Lampar (far left), director of Macomb Literacy Partners; Steve Steinhardt (third from left), an attorney and adjunct history professor at Macomb Community College who helps direct the monthly discussions; and (seventh from right) Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto. The Macomb County Bar Foundation sponsors the monthly book discussion sessions held at the Barnes &?Noble book store in Shelby Township. The club was formed last year to discuss books that focus on constitutional history, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the courts and other significant historical events. The next discussion, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23, will focus on “Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age” by Kevin Boyle.
