Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michael Crowley went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, and his JD from the University Of Southern California Gould School Of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the Hale Moot Court Honors Program and the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project, and was a founding member of the Santa Monica Vikings Youth Lacrosse League.
Crowley, who recently joined Conlin, McKenney & Philbrick, P.C. in Ann Arbor, focuses on estate planning, probate administration, business law and real estate. He enjoys coaching and playing lacrosse, hiking, reading, camping, snowboarding and spending time with family and friends.

What advice do you have for someone considering law school?
When friends ask if they should consider law school I let them know that it was one of the most rewarding and fun experiences I have ever had, but that you really have to commit to it.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be? I would teach high school history and coach lacrosse.
If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would that be? Henrik Zetterberg. The things he does on the ice are amazing and I think it would be a lot of fun to score a goal in the NHL. If not Zetterberg, than I’d be Chief Justice Roberts.
What’s the most awe-inspiring place you have visited? Glacier National Park. I have three younger brothers and each summer my family would pack up the car and take a trip to a national park. Glacier was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to go back.
What’s your biggest regret? I have no regrets.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? The ability to fly.
What would you say to your 16-year-old self? “Be more confident.”
What one thing do you wish people knew about your work?
How rewarding it can be to work closely with people as they deal with difficult legal and family challenges. People often associate the practice of law with mountains of paperwork and contentious litigation, but working in estate planning allows a level of client interaction that really surprises people.
Favorite joke: “I’m against picketing, but I don’t know how to show it.”
Must-see TV: “House of Cards.”
What’s one thing you would like to learn to do? I would love to learn to speak another language.
What is your motto? Teamwork makes the dream work.
If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be? John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr. and J. R. R. Tolkien.
Where would you like to be when you're 90? Bombing a double black diamond in Colorado.
Favorite CD: “Dark Side of the Moon”—Pink Floyd.
