Legal Aid and Defender Association Inc. (LAD) recently conducted a free workshop at the Royal Oak Public Library on family law in Michigan courts. Royal Oak librarian Mary Ann DeKane (right), host of the event, was happy to welcome those attending, including pro bono attorney Mona Jabr (left) who attended as an observer. The main speaker at the workshop was Kelly Bidelman, managing attorney of LAD’s Oakland County office. In addition to divorce procedures and requirements, workshop topics included division of marital assets, spousal and child support, custody and parenting time as well as and guardianship of minors.
