To support and foster the growth of women in the intellectual property (IP) field, Brooks Kushman PC hosted the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) “2013 Cross-Country Women in IP Networking Event” for the Detroit region. This was the third year that Brooks Kushman hosted the event which supports and fosters the growth of women in IP. The event took place Thursday, May 22, at the Skyline Club in Southfield. The Detroit reception was part of a simultaneous 31-city event that brings together women in the IP law arena. The event included a professional development session with Elizabeth Jolliffe (third from left), a benchmark coach who focuses on helping attorneys achieve their goals by increasing their revenue and productivity, improving work-life balance, and advancing within their firms. On hand to welcome Jolliffe were (l-r) Hope Shovein of Brooks Kushman PC, Shannon Murphy of Reising Ethington PC, Erin Bowles of Brooks Kushman PC, Kim Slaven of Dickinson Wright PLLC, and Rachel Smith of Brooks Kushman PC. Brooks Kushman’s Women’s Initiative provides a supportive and strategic framework for the firm’s 18 women IP professionals to enhance career growth.
