Calley speaks during Patriot Week
On Monday, Sept. 15, Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley visited Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus to participate during the school’s Patriot Week event. Patriot Week, a grass roots effort to acknowledge both the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, is designed to invigorate individuals’ appreciation for the American Spirit.
During the event, Calley challenged students to consider ways they, as patriots, can live out the words of our founding fathers, in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, that “all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
