New case inquiry system to improve public access to court records and dockets
The benefits are substantial not only to the public, legal community, and justice partners who no longer have to call or make in-person visits to the Court, but also to the staff who dedicate a considerable amount of time answering inquiries relating to case and hearing information.
With the recent transition from control of the Court from Special Judicial Administrator Michael J. Talbot to Chief Judge Nancy M. Blount, it is important for the Court to demonstrate its ability to adhere to the basic, principal foundations laid during its transformation.
Chief Judge Blount reiterated her commitment to continue the transformation.
“This is just one of the many vital improvements we have planned for the Court as we continue on this remarkable journey of reformation.” Court Administrator Kelli Moore Owen added, “Valuable and essential enhancements to key areas of the Court continue to be implemented at an astounding rate. I am honored to have been chosen by leaders who have confidence in my administrative abilities and fortunate to have the opportunity to play such an integral role in Detroit’s comeback.”
