Ballard elected Fellow of ACTEC
Christopher Ballard, a partner in the Ann Arbor office of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, has been elected to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. ACTEC is a national professional organization of more than 2,600 lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of trust and estate law. Prospective Fellows are nominated by members in their region and are evaluated on the basis of professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates, and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing and teaching, as well as bar activities.
Ballard concentrates his practice on estate planning, trusts administration, business planning, taxation and nonprofit organizations. He counsels clients on wealth management matters, including estate and inheritance tax issues, preservation of assets, charitable giving and probate administration. He also advises clients on fiduciary, international and partnership tax matters.
Recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 2007, Michigan Super Lawyers in 2014 and DBusiness as a "Top Lawyer" since 2012, Ballard earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A., with distinction, from the University of Michigan.
