Roundtable on marriage equality Dec. 4

 The Washtenaw County Bar Association's LGBTQ Rights Section will hold a Roundtable on Marriage Equality in Michigan at noon, Thursday, Dec. 4, 200 N. Main, Lower Level, Ann Arbor. The round table will be hosted by LGBTQ Rights Section co-chairs Angie Martell and Kerene Moore.

 In a split 2-3 decision on November 6, 2014, the Sixth Circuit upheld Michigan’s ban on recognition of same-sex marriage. The round table will discuss the next steps in challenging the marriage ban, the impact on same-sex families in Michigan, and tools to keep handy in client survival kits.  As time permits, the group will also discuss religious exemption policy initiatives and other trending topics in LGBTQ access to justice across the country.
