Muth named to Ann Arbor Environmental Commission

 Benjamin Muth, a partner in Muth Law’s litigation practice in Ypsilanti, was appointed by then Ann Arbor mayor John Hieftje to a three-year term on the Ann Arbor Environmental Commission. The commission recommends policies and advises on environmental issues to Ann Arbor City Council. Environmental law was a focus of Muth’s law school training, and he is excited to have the opportunity to serve the City of Ann Arbor in this capacity.

Muth also serves as a committee member on the Elizabeth Dean Trust Fund Committee, which approves expenditures from money left to the City of Ann Arbor by Elizabeth Dean in 1964 for tree maintenance and replacement.
Co-chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association New Lawyers Section, Muth has been a board member and treasurer for the Old West Side Association in Ann Arbor since 2012, and has served as a Big Brother in the Big Brother/Little Brother program.
Muth, whose practice focuses on personal injury litigation, earned his undergrad degree in journalism and anthropology, cum laude, from Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz., and graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School in 2012, where he was a member of the Trial Advocacy Moot Court Team, and a Research Fellow for the Water and Justice Program. 
His published works include “An Urban Agriculture Permit System for Detroit's Vacant Land,” published in the Michigan Environmental Law Journal.
