Soultivity rocks the night for charity Dec. 12 event brings in toys, food, pet supplies
Washtenaw County's all-attorney R & B band Soultivity, with special guests the Sanctuary Blues band from Brighton, played its 5th annual Rockin' Christmas party Dec. 12, at Papi O's in Ypsilanti.
Partygoers brought many donations of toys, food items and pet supplies.
Performing together for about 5 years, the band features deputy trial court administrator Robert Carbeck on drums, assistant prosecuting attorneys John Reiser on keyboard and Jon Emmons playing bass; and assistant public defenders Robin Stephens and Joy Gaines on vocals, as well as private attorneys Mike Gatti, Charlie Groh, Scot Muenzel and Bob Killewald, and Stefani Carter who has done administrative law work for the County.
Soultivity has raised thousands of dollars in money and donations for local charities and has played at the Relay for Life, fundraisers for cancer research and Michigan Foster Parents conference. The band has also played for Bar Association functions including the State Bar of Michigan annual conferences in Grand Rapids and Lansing as well as the American Bar Association Battle of the Bands showcase in Chicago.
