Jackson provides free New Year's Eve shuttle

 The Jackson Area Transportation Authority (JATA), Jackson County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (JCSAPC), Jackson Citizen Patriot, Rave Associates, Jackson Police and JTV will be sponsoring the New Year’s Eve shuttle on Dec. 31.  The New Year’s Eve shuttle will be available between the hours of 11 p.m. Dec. 31 and 4 a.m. Jan. 1.

The program is intended to provide a free ride home for people who may have had too much to drink while celebrating the coming New Year. This service is being offered to prevent drinking and driving.  Call 517-788-8410 for reservations (starting at 11 p.m. Dec. 31). It is recommended (but not required) that customers call at least 45 minutes in advance for a reservation.
Efforts are funded through Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Michigan Department of Community Health.
