Eric White is a founding member of White, Hotchkiss & Falahee, PLLC. He founded White & Hotchkiss, PLLC in 1998 after earning his undergraduate degree, cum laude, at Eastern Michigan University and law degree, cum laude, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
He served as president of the Jackson County Bar Association 2001-02.
White's clients include a number of townships, including Blackman, Summit, Columbia, Spring Arbor, Concord, Springport, Napoleon, and Waterloo. He is general counsel for CP Federal Credit Union, Aeroquip Credit Union, and MCCU, Michigan Community Credit Union and has represented clients from a wide range of industries. He is well known for his work in the area of family and matrimonial law.
A native of Jackson County and a former Public Safety Officer for Blackman Township, White and Shawn, his wife of 23 years, have four children --a Olivia, 18, Alaina, 16, Evan, 14, and Adam, 12 -- and are active with Northwest Community Schools.
White is an avid runner and golfer and has completed more than 20 marathons and ultra marathons in 10 states.

What is your most treasured material possession? An india ink drawing my father did in the late 50s.
What advice do you have for someone considering law school? Do some research and make sure it's something you will enjoy as a career.
Favorite app: Running Ahead
What is your happiest childhood memory? Seeing my dad at every sporting event and game. He never missed any of them.
What would surprise people about your job? The number of hours of preparation time required for a trial.
What do you wish someone would invent? A teleportation device (to and from anyplace warm).
Why did you become a lawyer? I enjoyed going to court to testify when I was a police officer and really liked that atmosphere and challenge.
What's your favorite law-related TV show, movie, and/or book? "Anatomy of a Murder" is my favorite book and "The Devil's Advocate" is my favorite law related movie.
Who are your law role models real and/or fictional? Mick Baughman. A Jackson legal legend and always, always, a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.
If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would that be? Warren Buffet.
What's the most awe-inspiring place you've ever been? Belize.
What did you do last weekend? Not much as I am married with four children.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? The ability to read minds, especially during a trial.
What would you say to your 16-year-old self? Be patient and don't sweat the small stuff.
What's your proudest moment as a lawyer? The first time I saw tears and gratitude in a client's eyes for helping them.
What do you do to relax? Run long distances and play golf.
If you were starting all over again and couldn't go into law, what career path would you choose? Commercial airline pilot.
What's one thing you would like to learn to do? Fly an airplane.
What is something most people don't know about you? I lived in Sarasota, Florida, and worked as a Sheriff's Deputy right after college in the 80s.
If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be? My dad, Jack Nicklaus, and Teddy Roosevelt.
What's the best advice you ever received? No matter what you are doing, always be prepared.
Favorite place to spend money: Any store selling running shoes and gear.
What is your motto? "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything."
Which living person do you most admire? My grandfather, Richard Nichols.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement? Becoming an attorney and starting my own firm.
Where would you like to be when you're 90? Still running marathons around the country.
