The Macomb County Bar Association held a seminar recently to examine the assignment of benefits in cases of divorce or separation. The seminar, entitled “QDRO/EDRO Practice: Tips, Tricks and Avoiding Pitfalls,” was planned by the MCBA’s Family Law committee. The speaker was Robert Treat (right), president of QDROExpress, who is pictured with Dawn Prokopec, chair of the Family Law committee. Treat, a former financial consultant and retirement planner, said he would explain Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and Eligible Domestic Relations Orders and the proper drafting of such documents.
