MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) — A judge says prosecutors can’t use a woman’s interview with police after her son’s dismembered body was discovered last year.
Macomb County Judge Richard Caretti says the interview with Donna Scrivo should have ended when she said, “I think I need a lawyer.”
The 61-year-old Scrivo is charged with first-degree murder and dismemberment in the death of her son, Ramsay. Five bags containing body parts were dumped in St. Clair County, about 50 miles northeast of Detroit. An electric saw was in one of the bags.
Scrivo told police that she wasn’t in St. Clair County, but her story conflicts with gas station video and phone records.
