The State Bar of Michigan Labor & Employment Law Section hosted its annual Spring-Board seminar on Wednesday, June 3, at The Reserve at Big Rock Chop House in Birmingham. The Spring-Board featured an hour-long panel presentation followed by a series of roundtable discussions and an evening of networking with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. This year the seminar reviewed “The Expansion of Civil Rights Protections based on Sexual Orientation and the Impact on the Workplace.” Among those taking part in the seminar were (left to right) Wayne State University Law?School Prof. Robert Sedler; Dana Nessel of Nessel &?Kessel Law, defense attorney for the DeBoer-Rowse family in the DeBoer v Snyder case before the U.S. Supreme Court; Gail Cober, director of the Detroit Field Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; Ken Sachs of Miller Canfield; and Anne-Marie Vercruysse Welch of Clark Hill PLC.
