The Washtenaw County Trial Court will host a "Family Reunification Day," 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 26, in the pavilion at County Farm Park, 2230 Platt Road, Ann Arbor.
The fun afternoon, to be held rain or shine, celebrates parents who have worked hard to reunite their families.
Honored guests include Michigan Supreme Court Justice Bridget McCormack; Chairman Homer Mandoka, President of the United Tribes of Michigan; Judge Elizabeth Gleicher of the Michigan Court of Appeals; and Nancy Vivoda from the Detroit Center for Family Advocacy.
The free event, the first of its kind in Washtenaw County, is sponsored by the Child Advocacy Law Clinic; Community Support & Treatment Services; The Dispute Resolution Center; Laborers Local 499; Legal Defense Group; State Court Administrative Office Child Welfare Services; Washtenaw County Government; Washtenaw County Department of Health & Human Services; Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission; Washtenaw County Public Defender and the Washtenaw County Trial Court.
