Gov. Rick Snyder has announced the appointment of Cynthia Arvant of Beverly Hills to the 46th District Court in Oakland County. She fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge William J. Richards.
Arvant has served as court administrator and part-time magistrate for the 46th District Court since July 2012.
She began her legal career as a litigator for Mooney & Condino in Southfield and joined the Michigan attorney general’s office as an assistant attorney general until going into private practice in May 2005.
The Detroit College of Law grad also served as a special assistant attorney general representing the state Department of Human Services in the Court of Appeals.
