Smith Haughey attorneys Eller and Pike named to Michigan Defense Trial Counsel offices


Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge attorney Gary S. Eller has been named to the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) Board of Directors. In addition to Eller’s appointment, Smith Haughey attorney Charles J. Pike has been named the Grand Rapids Regional Chairperson.

Eller, from Smith Haughey’s Ann Arbor office, is an experienced attorney and litigator who has successfully tried cases, settled disputes, and resolved issues for clients throughout Michigan. He represents and defends physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, psychiatrists, hospitals, and other health care providers and facilities against claims of medical malpractice. Active in MDTC, Eller has been involved with the organization for over a decade.

Pike, from the firm’s Grand Rapids office, practices in the areas of commercial litigation, legal malpractice, professional liability and transportation and no-fault law. He is involved with litigation matters ranging from contract disputes to general business issues and coverage claims.

MDTC was established in 1979 with the sole purpose of enhancing and supporting the civil defense bar as well as representing individuals and corporations in civil litigation.
